IBPS, an autonomous body, has received a mandate from the organisations to conduct the recruitment process as Specialist officers (SO), once a year.

The IBPS SO online examination (Preliminary and Main) for the next Common Recruitment Process(CRP) will be conducted tentatively in December 2023 / January 2024 by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) as a pre-requisite for selection of personnel for SPECIALIST OFFICERS CADRE POSTS IN PARTICIPATING ORGANISATIONS (CRP SPL - XIII)

IBPS SO LAW Candidates can apply for only one post. Multiple applications will be summarily rejected. 

IBPS SO ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA :

A) Nationality / Citizenship
A candidate must be either (i) a citizen of India or (ii) a subject of Nepal or (iii) a subject of Bhutan or (iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or (v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) and (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.  A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the examination/interview conducted by the Bank but on final selection the offer of appointment may be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him by the Government of India.

B) IBPS SO Educational Qualification (As on 21.08.2023) :  

IBPS SO Law Officer (Scale I) : A Bachelor Degree in Law (LLB) and enrolled as an advocate with Bar Council

* In case of dual specialisations, one of the fields of specialisation should be in the field prescribed. In case of major/ minor specialisations, major specialisation should be in the stream prescribed. Candidates having MBA/PG Diploma with more than two specialisations are not eligible to apply.

candidates should have Certificate/Diploma/Degree in computer operations/Language/ should have studied Computer / Information Technology as one of the subjects in the High School/College/Institute.

Note: (1) All the educational qualifications mentioned should be from a University/ Institution/ Board recognised by Govt. Of India/ approved by Govt. Regulatory Bodies and the result should have been declared on or before 21.08.2023  

Proper document from Board / University for having declared the result on or before 21.08.2023 has to be submitted at the time of interview. The date of passing the examination which is reckoned for eligibility will be the date of passing appearing on the marksheet/ Provisional certificate.   

(2) Candidate should indicate the percentage obtained in Graduation calculated to the nearest two decimals in the online application. Where CGPA / OGPA is awarded, the same should be converted into percentage and indicate the same in online application.

(3) Calculation of Percentage: The percentage marks shall be arrived at by dividing the marks obtained by the candidate in all the subjects in all semester(s)/year(s) by aggregate maximum marks in all the subjects irrespective of honours / optional / additional optional subject, if any.

This will be applicable for those Universities also where Class / Grade is decided on basis of Honours marks only.

The fraction of percentage so arrived will be ignored i.e. 59.99% will be treated as less than 60% and 54.99% will be treated as less than 55%.

(4) Candidates can apply for only one post. Multiple applications will be summarily rejected.

C) Age – (As on 01.18.2023) :

Minimum age – 20 years
Maximum age – 30 years

i.e. a candidate must have been born not earlier than 02.08.1993 and not later than 01.08.2003 (both dates inclusive)

Relaxation in the Upper Age Limit to Reserved category candidates Upper age is relaxable by

(1) 3 years in the case of OBC candidates.

(2) 5 years in the case of : i) SC/ST candidates. ii) Ex-servicemen (including Emergency Commissioned Officers/Short Service Commissioned Officers) who have rendered at least five years continuous Military Service and have been released on completion of assignment (including those whose assignment is due to be completed within one year) otherwise than by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency or /on account of physical disability or have been released on account of physical disability attributable to Military Service or on invalidment iii) Persons affected by 1984 riots.

(3) 10 years for Persons with Benchmark Disability as defined under The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.

NOTE:

(i) In case of a candidate who is eligible for relaxation under more than one of the above categories the age relaxation will be available on a cumulative basis with any one of the remaining categories for which age relaxation is permitted as mentioned above.  

(ii) Candidates seeking age relaxation will be required to submit copies of necessary certificate(s) at the time of Interview conducted by a particular Bank, if called by the Bank  

(iii) Ex-Servicemen candidates who have already secured employment under the Central Government in Group ‘C’ & ‘D’ will be permitted the benefit of age relaxation as prescribed for Ex-Servicemen for securing another employment in a higher grade or cadre in Group ‘C’/ ‘D’ under the Central Government. However, such candidates will not be eligible for the benefit of reservation for Ex-Servicemen in Central Government jobs.

SELECTION PROCESS  IBPS SO LAW Officers

Selection for IBPS SO LAW Officers would be based on the basis of online Preliminary Examination, Main Examination and INTERVIEW. 

IBPS SO LAW OFFICER Online Preliminary Examination :

The subjects of online IBPS SPL LAW Preliminary examination (online objective type) would be as follows :  

English Language
Reasoning
General Awareness with Special Reference to Banking Industry

Candidates have to qualify in each of the three tests by securing minimum cut-off marks to be decided by IBPS. 
Adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by IBPS depending  upon requirements will be shortlisted for Online Main Examination.

IBPS SO EXAMINATION CENTRES :

(i) The IBPS SO examination will be conducted online in venues across many centres in India. The tentative list of Examination centres for the Online Preliminary Examination and those for Online IBPS SO Main Examination is available in information bulletin. 
(ii) No request for change of centre for IBPS SO Examination shall be entertained.
(iii) IBPS, however, reserves the right to cancel any of the Examination  Centres and/or add some other Centres, at its discretion, depending upon the response, administrative feasibility, etc. 
(iv) IBPS also reserves the right to allot the candidate to any centre other than the one he/she has opted for. 

HOW TO APPLY IBPS SO APPLICATION FORM:

IBPS CRP SPL Candidates can apply online only from 01.08.2023 to 21.08.2023 and no other mode of application will be accepted.

Candidates are first required to go to the IBPSs authorized website www.ibps.in and click on the Home Page to open the link CRP Specialist Officers and then click on the option CLICK HERE TO APPLY ONLINE FOR CRP-Specialist Officers (CRP-SPL-XI) to open the On-Line Application Form.

Candidates will have to click on CLICK HERE FOR NEW REGISTRATION to register their application by entering their basic information in the online application form. After that a provisional registration number and password  will be generated by the system and displayed on the screen.
Candidate should note down the Provisional registration number and password.  An Email & SMS indicating the Provisional Registration number and Password will also be sent. They can reopen the saved data using Provisional registration number and password and edit the particulars, if needed.

IBPS CRP SO APPLICATION FEES (Payable from 01.08.2023 to 21.08.2023 both dates inclusive) (only Online payment) :

(a) For SC/ST/PWD candidates - Rs.175.00 (inclusive of GST)

(b) For all others (including OBC) - Rs.850.00 (inclusive of GST)

Bank Transaction charges for Online Payment of application fees/intimation charges will have to be borne by the candidate  

Mode of Payment : 

Candidates have the option of making the payment of requisite fees/ intimation charges through ONLINE mode only.

The payment can be made by using Debit Cards (RuPay/Visa/MasterCard/Maestro), Credit Cards, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards/ Mobile Wallets by providing information as asked on the screen.
